The course is tailored specifically for Surgical Trainees (Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery, Vascular surgery and Plastic surgery trainees) (ST3 – ST8), this focused course provides hands on experience in performing major lower limb amputations on cadaveric specimens under the supervision of leading consultants in the field of musculoskeletal oncology and trauma. The course provides unparalleled opportunity to develop and refine surgical skills in a practical setting, with one cadaveric specimen allocated between just two participants to maximise learning and operative time.
Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of surgical approaches, anatomical considerations, flap techniques and stump optimisation.
Ideal for trainees seeking to build confidence and competence in this essential area of which trainees may not have had much experience to ensure safe future practice as a day one consultant.
